This lone, weathered tree is quickly becoming a centerpiece for my visits to the bay side of the Refuge. There is no telling how long this tree has been around, what it has survived or how much longer it will be around. It has become home to crabs and the like and I noticed that the base is more covered with sand this year than last.

I have no doubt it will be around for me to visit next year when I return.
