These are strange little birds. They travel in flocks of twenty-five to a hundred. Tree lines of islands along the Tennessee River are peppered with these looney looking birds. When they take off from the water, thier lift off isn't clean and they start running with their feet. It gives the impression they are trying to walk on water.
