This was my fourth year visiting the wildlife refuge and it never seems to get boring. Water levels were noticeably higher this year compared to years past. It was difficult to work the coast of the Refuge so I decided to set-up on an inland pond and let the wildlife come to me.
The Great Blue Heron population was more active this year with more younger herons inhabiting the refuge. I had forgotten how territorial these birds can be.
Storms rolled through one afternoon and lasted into the night, which gave me the opportunity for some night storm shots as well.
Overall, another enjoyable trek to the refuge and next year can't get here quick enough.
