Separated from the Big Lake ecosystem by a major highway Wagner bog has been preserved as a natural area. Conservationalists have built boardwalks through the bog areas - when I paid a short visit in 2006 the bog areas had dried up leaving the boardwalks high and dry. I only had my macro lens with me so was only able to capture a very focussed few of the area. One year later I went back to capture a wider view with my landscape lens - I was very surpised to see the bog once again to be very dry, this despite quite a wet year so far that has kept everything else green. Where has all the water gone?
