Dear Mr. Consoli,
My father (Robert Blouch aka "Bob" or "Blouchy") worked on the crew for Bobby Gerhart Sr. many years ago. They got together around 1965 and remained close until the time my dad passed away from cancer in 1987. I remained friends with the Gerhart family and followed Bobby Jr. and Billy Gerhart in the ARCA series. I had the good fortune of being with them in victory lane 3 times at Daytona.
I admire your gallery collection of cars, and also wanted to mention that I have many old 35 mm color slides my father took of Bobby Seniors race cars through the years. They are high quality, and I would like to convert them to digital pictures, but do not know the safest and best way to do this, plus to copyright protect them. Can you give me any advice? Best wishes and thanks for sharing your passion.

dklein , I have a resin slotcar that my dad built years ago that is a faithful recreation of Tony Saylor's Kurtis Midget Roadster #29. It is dead on to mr. consoli's picture.

Mr Consoli,
Thank you for sharing images. Are any for sale? I would be interested in any images of the gapco spl., the driver was Sam Sessions. You may have other pics of other drivers since Sam was not only driver. The cars were ran all the way up to the spring of 84. I believe the last driver was Joe Saldana.

Great photos , do you have any of the Bell Lines Trucking car from the early 60"s
Michael Blouch 14-Apr-2010 02:05
Hi Al,
Nice to see your great photo collection, and thanks for sharing everything. I especially liked the #5 Bobby G car at the Hershey Auto Club Museum. I helped to design and build that car with my Dad, Bob Blouch and the crew. Many years later I got to be in Victory Lane in Daytona Speedway when Bobby Jr. won the ARCA 200 race, and I watched him win it for the 6th time this year too in 2010!
Lot's of great memories from the racing past. . .
Be well!

Al,
Great collection of incredible pics!
Am looking for any images of Benny Rapp's first #14 IMCA sprinter from 1965 till approx 1972. Can you help please? You seem to have been in/around the midwest in that era.
Events he competed in included Little 500 and Tampa Winternationals.
Holiday wishes.

Mr. Consoli. Can't wait to see your photos of 2006 Indiana Sprint Week! They will surely be the best sprint car photos ever taken, and that is saying a lot as your 2005 and 2004 were the best ever printed. I have made them all so far, and after seeing the action, I can only imagine what your prints will look like. Keep up the excellent work, and see you at the remainder of ISW this week.

My father use to race dirt track and I am wondering if you have any photos from the late 40's to mid 50's. I have 35mm film on some of the races - but it is old and some is damaged. He drove #51 "The Lake Ranger" which later on was changed to #77.

Thank You for your time and consideration!

I have recently restored the Kurtis Roadster Midget and I am looking to find any picture of it in previous years. I have shown it at Michigan International and will be showing it this weekend at the IRL race at Chicagoland. Any information regarding obtaining pictures would be appreciated.

Al I have been an open wheel race fan for many, many years. I am especially fond of the Silver Crown cars and watched my first Big Car race at Du Quoin State fairgrounds in 1959 when Roger Ward won driving the Leader Card Special. I haven't missed a race at Du Quoin since 1959. Your photography is simply marvelious. Please keep documenting the Silver Crown series because it appears we may be in the final days of those beautyful cars on the big one mile dirt tracks.

Al,
I was presently surprised to see a picture of my uncle Tony Saylor's #29 Kurtis Roadster. He has told me of how well Dick Atkins drove the car and now I see a picture on the internet. He doesn't have any picture of the car running so this was really neat to see. Great shot.

Al,
Love the pics! Great job! I'm a newly reborn NASCAR fan, but a very old fan from the Reading Fairgrounds dirt-track days. I spent a lot of my childhood there - my grandfather (Herman Dietrich) was Head Electrician for the Reading Fair for many years, and a good friend of the Alberts (Sammy's Steaks).

I was hoping to find some pics from the good old days - drivers like "Toby" Tobias, Al Tasnady, Jackie Evans, Bobby Gerhart, Buzzy Reutimann, etc. Nevertheless, I enjoyed your site tremendously!

Thanks for the memories!

A great sight. The first race I ever attended featured outboards,willys,V8 60 and one HAL
Your site brings back fond memories. The race was here in Windsor and it was a Big Car/Midget card. Feature winners were Mike Salay and Eddy Ostwick. Anyone selling photos as Frank Smith once did?
