Recovering a Locked iPhone or iPad How to Steps

The iPhone is one of the most popular phones in our time. The large functionality of the phone with a large number of applications makes it an unequivocal leader in the market. iPhone owners do not think about how can you record a call on iphone or how to process a photo, the functionality allows almost everything.

Sometimes, you happen to forget your passcode for unlocking the screen of your iPhone or iPad and if you try it more than 6 times, your iPhone or iPad will give your some time-based cooling period and if you still get your passcode wrong, your phone will be completely disabled.

What can you do to unlock or recover your iPhone or iPad, below are the steps to recover your device via iTunes:

Have the latest version of iTunes installed on your desktop.
Connect your device with iTunes via USB.
Choose your device on the left side of the screen and click on it.
Select Back Up.
After the Back-Up process is complete, Click on Restore from the most recent Back-Up.

After connecting with iTunes, if iTunes prompts you to enter the PassCode, then try on another computer. And if you still get the same message, then Select ‘If You Have Never Synced With iTunes’ and proceed further.

If you have never synced with iTunes on any computer, then proceed with the following steps:

Unplug the USB cable from the device.
Turn of your iDevice by holding the power button down and sliding it to power off.
Press and Hold the Home button and connect the device by plugging the USB cable (don’t release the Home button).
A message will appear saying ‘Connect to iTunes’. At that point release the Home button.
iTunes will prompt you of a connection of an iDevice. Then, Restore the device to its original factory settings. In the process, you will lose all the installed apps (unless you already have a backup of them).
If you don’t have a computer, then you can try following the following options to unlock your device:

If you have enabled ‘Find My Phone’ option on your device, then you can Remote Wipe to unlock your device.
If you have used iCloud to backup your device, then you can recover your device using iCloud by restoring it from the most recent backup.
During Set up, you can also configure your device to delete the passcode after 10 consecutive failed attempts to enter the correct passcode. This feature is disabled by default. To enable it, go to Settings General Passcode Lock.

But to avoid such kind of situation from arising again, you should take backup of your device frequently whether with iCloud backup services or with iTunes.

With iTunes, you can switch on Automatic Sync of Data at specified points in time and your device will be synced or backed up automatically. Your backup can also be encrypted. it requires you to enter another password on your device which will also be saved on the computer on which iTunes is running.

You can also backup your data on iCloud which is made available to users by Apple itself. Initially, 5 GB of free storage is provided to users. However, users can purchase more space. To enable iCloud storage, go to iCloud Storage Backup and turn on iCloud Backup.
