10 YEARS IN HYDE PARK

I walk frequently in Hyde Park and always with a camera. And always come away with some shots, even if its my fiftieth unsuccessful attempt to get a decent Chaffinch
shot or yet more Mallard Ducks and squirrels which I cant resist.

Its truly a wonderful environment whatever the season - whether its rain or shine.

Hyde Park, including Kensington Gardens, is bigger than Monte Carlo, and provides a vast open space in the heart of one of the worlds largest cities. In fact its been a public park
since 1637.

The Park offers many different things to different people – recreation, sport, appreciation of wildlife and above all space and a welcome oasis of peace and serenity in a very
crowded city.

I particularly enjoy the woodlands and meadows which are allowed to grow almost wild and in places, its hard to imagine you are literally in the heart of London. Let me take this
opportunity to salute the Royal Park staff who do an amazing job in keeping the park in such wonderful shape.

I have taken these 500 plus photographs over the past 10 years or so and they try to represent daily life in Hyde Park, whether it’s the wildlife, the woodlands, concerts, military parades or
simply exercising the dog.

My aim is to record the fullest perspective of Hyde Park and to update or upgrade shots as appropriate. And perhaps one of these days I will manage a shot of the elusive fox
which seems to make an occasional guest appearance.
