Dedication and a big warm coat has rewarded you with a superb collection of Cambridge photographs.

Hello,

I'm just an art admirer and wanted to say that I find your Cambridge galleries really breath-taking. I like how they evoke the mystical aura of scholars attending the university through-out history while being captivating. I appreciate their attention to details and rich imagery. As a painter, they have given me plenty of visual stimulation through-out hard times. Thank you so much for sharing them!
Guest 08-Dec-2007 22:12
Some of the best stuff on Pbase. thanks for sharing.
Guest 15-Nov-2007 20:16
Thank you for this wonderful site. The pictures, the combination of art, science and teaching, inspired me the way discovering Ansel Adams did as a kid.

Hi Sean, don't know if I told you before, but you have the best, informative, scientific, yet artistic treatises on Digital Photoraphy I have come across in 10 years! What a generous service you are gifting to the World! More power to you!

I have a pressing questions... I noticed that in some of your galleries, like "Corsica", you used a Canon PowerShot G3. A friend just gifted me with a Canon PowerShot A175 IS. I dearly want to shoot in RAW mode, and I was amazed to read in your photos data that you did use that format. How is that possible with the A175 IS? My setting don't give a choice of format, only resolutions and size ratios. Many, many thanks for your time which I appreciate so much! Tom Uhing (pBase: twfuhingantipolo

Not sure if there's any point in me commenting you on the amazing photos you've taken, but I'll do it anyway. I don't think there are many examples of photographs that are more amazing in concept, technique and execution then yours. Absolutely fantastic. Congratulations!

Signed up just to leave you a comment ;-)

I stumbled onto your photos purely by accident earlier this year when research HDR. Since then I have taken countless photos and grown as a photographer, but I always come back to your cambridge in colour site. Those photos are some of the best I've ever seen and continue to inspire me to keep improving my work. I look forward to more inspirational photos from you.

Cheers,

Sean

Hello Sean, your Cambridge gallery is excellent, far to many good images for me to comment on individually but especially liked the multi image shots with the daffs. A lot of good composition and great lighting.

Very impressive & striking images. I mostly shoot people, I wish I had time to travel and do some photography. I get tired of shooting people but I guess it also has it's own charm at times.

Dear Sean,

Your work is amongst the best I have seen in the digital medium. Your mastery of the technical elements of the form is matched, if not superseded, by your aesthetic sensibility. Your images are, in short, stunning.

I have rarely enjoyed viewing a website as much as Cambridge in Colour. I would commend your work and tutorials to any aspiring photographer.

Thanks.

Hello,
I just wanted to say that your images inhttp://www.cambridgeincolour.com are amazing. The vivid colors and sharp detail is what I am striving for as a newbie to digital SLR. I was wondering having not used Photoshop a lot in the past with my film images, do you use a lot of digital manipulation on your photos with Photoshop or are you a minimalist? Also, your tutorials have been great, but some of them have no links, are they being updated/worked on. So far they have greatly helped with the digital transition

Happy new year to you.

Splendid gift you have given the globe for 2005. I'm sure there will be many adaptors of your methods, myself included. I've also always been intrigued with the twilight conditions. The colors and foci of your photos has reawakened me and probably others to some intriguing possibilities. For myself, I plan to partly blend your approach with that of another photographer who does great waterscape imaging. Living here on cape cod, at the easternmost reach of the US into the Atlantic will provide some good opportunities.
It's also been enjoyable following your thread this week at dpReview. A pleasent find that has ispired many photographers during these holiday weeks.

Amazing work Sean - really impressed. As an avid panoramic photographer, I couldn't help wondering what stitching application you are using... I use MGSoft Photovista, but noticed that your qulity is light years ahead. My experience with the included Canon stitching software has also been less than great.

I've researched stitching software that's available, and now I'm aware of Panoweaver, PTGui, ACD PhotoStitcher software plug-in for ACDSee, Image Stacker, PhotoFit Harmony, PixAround.com's PixMaker Lite, Pano2exe, Panorama Factory v2.0, PanaVue Image Assembler and Ulead's Cool 360 Panorama software.

I'd love to know what you're using - there can't be a better endorsement than the work you're doing...

Keep it up.

Thanks so much for sharing.

Hello Sean,

This is Alberto Fonseca from Mexico asking for your kind consent to use two of your Cambridge photos (25417422Puddle Sunset & 23726580Pastel River) in the front and back cover of an English language coursebook I am about to publish. My e-mail address is kinghathcynn@hotmail.com and I am certain we can reach an agreement on my using these two beautiful photographs of Cambridge in my book covers.

Hi Sean-

Amazing pictures! I will be studying at Cambridge this year and found these shots truly inspirational. I was just wondering... how is it that you achieve such vivid pictures? Do you do a lot of work with your computer using editing tools, or is it a technique with the camera itself?

As someone who is looking forward to travelling and spending more time with digital photography, I will eagerly await your response. Thanks again!

Best,
Steve

You continue to impress me with the incredible range of your abilities and gifts. You must pursue your photography.

Your work shows a strong talent for capturing unique views of exceptional sights, in a way that magnifies and illuminates the beauty of the scene. You capture what usually cannot be captured in a photograph of beautiful scenery, a truly symphonic experience in a visual sense.

I want to see more.
