Medina, Carthage and Sidi Bou Said

A day touring north Tunisia. Details to follow.
Archeologically, Carthage is a mess - every civilisation established itself, developed, flourished, was invaded, was destroyed. The new Occupiers built their own cities, temples, public buildings, government, dwellings, on top of the mess, using the rubble. So Roman columns turn up all over, well after the Romans went super nova. What you can see is whoever was last's view of society. Hard to pick your way through it all. Many stones lying on the ground. Some dramatic things remain, such as the Hidden Commercial Port.
The current local culture is fascinating.
