We had a fine turn-out for this fungi discovery-walk led by Don Shernoff. It began in the parking lot on a wood-chip pile. Since it was very fresh, we only found a few clusters of Agrocybes. We walked part way around the perimeter of the pond and saw many of the usual fungi, but the most exciting discovery for me was found by keen-eyed Dana: a Helvella queletii! I had to search the internet to find out about it, since it wasn't illustrated or discussed in my field guides. Dana found a few specimens, mostly of small size, distributed around a fallen oak.
