I decided at the last minute to attend the 2003 NEMF Foray at the Scott's Family Resort in Deposit, NY and I am glad I went. It was an opportunity to see old friends from last year's foray and to make new friends, too. There were several walks from which to choose, and several demonstrations and scintillating lectures given by fungi notables, including Gary Lincoff, Dr. Tom Volk, Taylor Lockwood, Douglas Bassett, John Boyle, Clay Martin, Dr. Richard Korf, Dr. William G. Cibula, Richard Progovitz, John Plischke III, William Roody, David Fischer and others. Foragers found over 300 species of fungi, a record count for a NEMF Foray!
