Crepidotus applanatus 8773.jpg

Fahnestock State Park, Appalachian Trail

All members of the genus 'Crepidotus' are members of the Cortinarius family. Unlike the oysters mushrooms, which they superficially resemble, they all have brown, rather than white, spore-prints. It is inadvisable to eat any crepidotus.
