Pezizas are rather delicate, easily broken, cup fungi that are found growing on wood. The spore surface is the inside of the 'cup.' If you gently touch the underside of the fruiting body, or blow into the spore-surface, within a second or two you will probably witness millions of tiny spores disperse into the air where they will be carried by the slightest breeze to another spot. They are edible.
