Hygrophorus-eburneus7618.jpg

Deposit NY

This ivory snow white beacon on the forest floor of the Scott's grounds was one of many colonies of Hygrophoropsis eburneus. It has a viscid cap, well-spaced whitish gills, and a white stipe that tapers inward at the base. Hygrophorus eburneus is, like most if not all waxy-caps, characteristically fragile.
