05/08/10 California Multiple Use Area, Putnam County
As you can see from the group photo, we had a good showing, despite the rain, for this walk. Most everyone found a few morels, enough at least to chop up, cook in butter or oil, and mixed with some scrambled eggs. Some members focused on the ramps, which were easier to find. After the walk, most people stayed behind at the home of Beverly and Morrs Palmer to share lunch.
These are the mushrooms we found: Morchella sp., Nolanea verna (?), Peziza badio-confusa, Mycena sp., Favolus alveolaris, Schyzophylum commune and Stereum ostrea.
