Message from Colorado Wildhorse
Welcome to Colorado Wild Horse
Thank you for your interest in Piceance Horses. If you have information or photos of the Piceance horses that you'd like to share let me know.

The 190,000 acre Piceance/East Douglas HMA is managed by the BLM and is a multi-use area with hunting, livestock grazing and energy development as well as wild horses. It's a unique and interesting place to visit and one of my favorite places for photo trips. In our galleries you will find photos of birds, insects, wildflowers as well as the wild horses.
I've been photographing the wild horses in or near the Piceance/East Douglas HMA for over ten years. Photos and information for individual horses can be found in the galleries. There are areas of the HMA that I have yet to visit and horses I've yet to photograph. This is an ongoing project and is far from complete. Comments and questions are welcome.
Thank you,
Dona Hilkey
