Duomo, Milan (Milan Catehdral) is the third largest church in the world, after St Peters (in the Vatican) and Seville Cathedral. Construction of this gothic masterpiece started in 1386 and it offers a rare treat to tourists in the form of the roof terrace walk, which offers fantastic views over the centre of Milan. Approximately 3500 statues adorn the outside of the Duomo, many of them on spires standing high into the sky - this being one of them on the west side of the building.
