Windjammer Days

Each summer Boothbay Harbor sponsors Windjammer Days. There are all kinds of events, but the most spectacular is the parade of old windjammers. These wooden, multi-masted schooners ply the coast of Maine taking people out for cruises through the islands visiting harbors up and down the coast. On the second day of windjammer celebrations, schooners come into the harbor under full sail and anchor for the evening's fireworks display before sailing out again! What a glorious sight!
