March 4: They tell us Spring is coming! Mud season, perhaps! |
Five years in and patriotism is still alive and well in Bath as well as.... |
....Portland. We still seem to have the need to prove our patriotism! |
March 6: A trip to Portland and the Museum take us to the... |
...McClellan House and the sculpture hall on the way. |
This skylight lights General Grant (left). |
Then at McClellan, it's fun to document the architectural... |
detail that this house is devoted to. |
Old mirror in upstairs room. |
Then we walk to the watefront where this artsy lighthouse decorates a parking lot. |
March 9: We're off to LL Bean's where the river fish tank... |
 ....is very interesting! |
And in Portland it looks almost like spring. |
"Are you kidding," he asks! |
 March 17: |
 and in Damariscotta... |
The economy takes a BIG hit and the stock market reflects frightening news! |
And here is a sure sign of spring. They want us to know they'll soon be open again! |
And flags fly in unusual places. Perhaps THAT will save the financial system? |
Spring melt off in a small brook along Annable Road. |
 March 22: Easter Weekend |
and it's time for a bit of... |
 ...bead stringing.....with Mom's help. |
 |
But she wants to paint the pig! |
So it's time to put the beads away and... |
 ...get the pig out. |
 Isn't she cute? |
 Break time, but... |
 ...what's so funny? |
Aunt Jeanne was yucking it up! |
Then the driveway got patched. |
PM: Marty and Mary drop by on their way from Bar Harbor and.. |
 ...Lorelei enjoys reading with... |
 .....Mary and ... |
 beading with mary... |
Easter Morn: Marta and Lorelei apply an easter faux tattoo. |
 Ooooooh, look! |
Then it's back to 'paint the pig.' |
This time she gets a fresh coat.... |
 ....of blue! |
And when she's done, she's almost ALL blue! |
Then it's time to watch TV with Auntie Jeanne before... |
...heading out for lunch at Mae's. |
PM: We go outside to stack wood and Lorelei takes a break from throwing rocks. |
Then practices with a frisbee. It isn't easy to throw the first few times! |
And one can lose balance...it's almost as big as she is! |
But with time and practice, she gets better.... |
 ....and better!!! |
Mid Month: Scout enjoys the last... |
 ....vestiges.... |
 ....of winter.... |
 .....snow. |
Mar. 26: We meet Frances and Rich in Kennebunkport where we're early and the church is open, so we get.... |
.....inside where this window is dedicated to Captain Walker...could it BE? |
The Chapel is on the second level of the church...very pretty and typically understated New England. |
Could it BE that Captain Walker is related to George Herbert Walker Bush? |
Sinuous staircase leads to the chapel upstairs. |
It's like spring and the street leading to the church shows signs of both. (winter and spring) |
Checking out the menu at Allison's. |
 Then taking photos! |
A new restroom goes in behind Allison's in the public parking lot. |
Composite of the Congregational Church. |
The schooners are still 'buttoned up' for winter. |
And thought it's early spring, it still looks like winter. |
Butch and I take photos.... |
 ....of the harbor,..... |
 ...the mill waterfall,.... |
....and at the local firestation where... |
 ....we find equipment all |
 ....right and ..... |
 ....ready! |
 Good-bye firestation! |
March 29: Spring is time to take down trees in danger of blowing over...before.... |
...the hurricane season to follow in the next season. |
Once it's down, it's time to split the wood so that... |
....it can be burned next year! |
