 Surely enough! March went out like a lamb after entering like a lion!! |
 April 1: Sure sign of spring....dog out for a walk and tiger lilies sprouting! |
 The birch tree is glorious against a blue sky! |

 April 3: Time to visit Morris Farm in Wiscasset where... |
 ...they are growing seedlings for the summer garden and.... |
 ...the rabbits are soft and furry...wonder if they harvest the soft fur? |

 April 5: A return trip to Morris Farm finds... |
 ...it like a petting zoo and.... |
 ...we have fun... |

 Sometimes a bit of crayon makes the color more interesting! |
 And when we can do it ourselves, it's even more fun! |

 Then there's an egg dropping contest...wrap your egg and drop it from... |

 Then it's unwrapped to see if it's still.... |
 ...whole! Lorelei won a cookie for dropping hers without a crack! |
 Then it's time to go home. |
 April 9: We head out to Camden/Rockport for a poetry reading....here is the new Civic. |
 While in Camden, we stop at the library where... |
 ....nautical themes... |
 ...are around every corner. |
 And the Reading Room is reflected in... |
 ...a large chandeliere. |

 And being the home of Edna St. Vincent Millay, her words are imprinted on the walls. |
 We arrive in Rockport where... |
 ...the poetry reading is very enjoyable. |

 And the Opera House sits in the middle ... |
 ....of town. Remind us to go back to a performance here! |
 April 10: A Muslim woman checks out the art exhibit at Portland City Hall. (Culture, garb, dress) |

 Going toward Harpswell, we stop at the Cribstone bridge and... |

 On the way home....fence shadows. |
 Back at home, Lynne's crocuses are... |

 April12: Poetry festival day at the University of Maine in Augusta takes us to Augusta. |
 On the way home, we stop in Dresden to... |
 check out some buildings we've been curious about for years! |
 Bridge Academy is a beautiful old building that was once... |
 ...a high school, but is now a library. |
 Inside it's an interesting structure where... |
 ....the librarian holds wood from the sills gnawed by carpenter ants. |
 But inside, the ceiling is the attraction...a tin ceiling! |
 April 15: We head in to Freeport and I get another 'crack' at the woodland stream aquarium. |
 Freeport's streets are deserted on this early spring morning! |
 And the fast food establishment is looking for workers. |
 This gun/antique shop is very interesting! |
 They are selling old weathervanes... |
 ...in a neighborhood that sells NEW ones! |
 I think I like the oxidized ones better! |
 And this place sells guns as well. |
 April 19: We visit Winter's Gone Farm and are greeted by Hairy, the dog. |
 The alpacas warm up after at first seeming a bit stand-offish. |
 One even comes up to get his chin scratched and lets .... |
 ....Lorelei pat. |
 They have such cute faces! |
 And sometimes don't mind a 'close encounter.' |
 April 20: Another sunny day to.... |
 .....go to the beach to dig our toes... |
 ...into the sand and to dig.... |
 ....in the sand! |
 There's a cool breeze and it's chilly. |
 But people are out walking dogs anyway. |
 The beach makes a nice board for writing, but .... |
 ....watch out for the surf. |
 Bury those feet in cool sand! |

 It's a nice way to catch a few rays after a long winter! |
 Be careful! Don't fall! |
 Then it's time to dust off the sand and head home. |
 April 21: We spend some time outside and Lorelei tries to stand on one foot.... |
 ...but falls and needs to dust off her knees. |
 It's a beautiful day to wash the car. |
 And when it's finished... |
 Lorelei upends the bucket to drum and sing and... |
 ....dance the Hokey Pokey while... |
 Pappa stacks wood. |
 April 26: It's Princess Weekend! (Yes, she's coming!) |
 And it's also Fishermen's Festival weekend when.... |
 Boothbay Harbor closes streets so kids can draw with chalk on them. |
 But it 's so busy and crowded, that we decide to go to... |
 ...the playground instead where.... |
 ...we 'zoom' along in a blue jeep and... |
 ....get spit out by the slide! |
 There are many slides and .... |
 ...they are fun and safe!! We're glad we decided to do this instead of fight the crowds. |
 April 27: It's Nutella on apples and ... |
 .... a very messy kid! |
 After a healthy snack, it's time to go... |
 ....outside and get rolling w/ a colorful... |
 ....ball! |
 We're not really good at throwing, but the railed-in.... |
 ....ramp keeps in on track and... |
 ...guide it making it easy to... |
 ....catch! |
