Looking through June files, I find.... |
...more of the park worth sharing. |
Here's the entrance to the Lake McDonald area and Going to the Sun Road... |
 Trees are big here! |
...where a family frollicks in front of McDonald lodge. |
Then in Oregon, there's another view of Timbeline Lodge. |
 Closeup of snow cat. |
At Market Day, a street performer has an audience. |
Olive gets into the act...with Mom and.... |
 ...with Dad! |
 She's a baby! |
Then it's back onto the train for.... |
 ...the journey home, |
 ...past New York's vineyards, |
... and the Mohawk River. |
 Back to South Station.... |
...entrance to the street and.... |
 ...old facade. |
Then we remove ourselves to the bus terminal... |
...where people are asleep on the benches. |
July 3, Maine's version of street performers in Damariscotta; the prettiest parking lot in Maine! |
The town is decked out in Patriot gear for the holiday! |
And old dog sniffs the cool air from his front seat perch. |
And at boothbay's Farmers' Market.... |
 .....a woman weaves baskets. |
Ron buys honey for his tea. July has begun! |
July 5: We meet Lorelei's friend, Hanna, at a park in Boothbay where.... |
....they have a great time together! |
July 5: Vegetation is maturing in our neighborhood and it's .... |
 .,..rather attractive. |
Even the Tigers are in bloom! |
But blackberries are not yet ripe. |
Lorelei plays as the TV... |
 ....runs in the background. |
You can see that she's pretty good at.... |
 ....ignoring it. |
July 12: Another Rinehart weekend and this time... |
 ...Clay comes too! |
Michaele and Liz come too. |
Which gets us out of the house and to.... |
 ....some local attractions. |
Marshall Point Lighthouse is one and we get.... |
 inside the keeper |
July 14; Time to go to town and shop! |
Dragonflies are a recurring theme. |
Then it's on to discount shoes where we buy nothing. |
At 'Enchantments' it says, "No Parking," so why are YOU parking, lady?? |
We wait outside to escape the incense. |
Michaele emerges with her find of the day! |
Then the phone rings as she snaps a shot of us. |
July 15: It's in to Portland and the Portland.... |
 Head Lighthouse. |
Where the skies are just wonderful! |
Miss Lizzie nudges a greenhead from her leg while surveying the view! |
Sometimes a camera phone has to capture the 'event!' |
 Kids 'shoot' the light. |
Then it's on to lunch at Demillios in Portland. |
Then we walk around the marina. |
Portland has graciously left these gorgeous flowers in a planter on the docks. |
More boats end the visit. |
July 16: Today is Pemaquid Day... |
Time to explore the ledges. |
...and this lady is knitting by the light. |
It's high noon and pretty despite... |
 ...the high noon sunshine. |
Except it's hard to see the phone screen. |
It's hot, but the flags are flying. |
...and the fence overlooks the water with the binocs. |
We worry about this kid getting washed from the rocks, but.... |
....someone gets washed from the rocks down here instead! |
Its' a lovely day for a sail! |
....Liz's glasses reflect the day with the rock ledge reflected. |
Then we're off the ledge and out of the sun. |
July 17: We go on a lighthouse cruise. |
Waiting for time to sail. |
 |
 |
 Time to board. |
 A party passes by. |
 Leaving the harbor. |
Then in the outer harbor... |
 Ram Island Lighthouse... |
...is as pretty as ever! |
And the East Wind comes along for a bit of added... |
 ...drama! |
Skies are largely overcast, but this interesting cloud formation shows up. |
Then we reach Pemaquid and see it from the water...interesting! |
 Leaving Pier 7 |
After the cruise we run to Red's for a lobster roll. |
We stop for saltwater taffy on our way to the parking lot. |
The skies have cleared and the calm river is gorgeous with it's reflections. |
A couple from North Carolina joins us at a larger Red's table. |
July 18: We're back at Pemaquid where we thought we'd have big waves again, but... |
....we ate lunch, then enjoyed.... |
 ....the light and.... |
....joined others watching less than stellar surf, then... |
....it started to rain and we skedaddled! (Liz bundled against the rain thru a wet windshield.) |
July 19: Everyone sadly sits around waiting for the van to the airport. |
It's early in the morning... |
Ron helps them unload luggage. |
July 22: We go into Portland to the museum. |
Where we see the Georgia O'Keeffe Exhibit and have lunch at the cafe. |
Birthday flowers are lively subjects that... |
....are interesting textures and colors. |
And these were the gift of Marta and Lorelei |
 Sunflowers...sunny no more. |
But this makes up for it! |
July 26: Lorelei uses her Slip and Slide |
 .....out in the yard. |
And it's time to cut the cake. Prior to the birthday in July. |
