University of Maine Poetry Festival

In April, 2007, the spring mind turns to poetry and at the University of Maine in Augusta, a festival is held where noted Maine poets (many of them UM faculty) read their work with students and Maine residents who share their passion for the word! (These images are numbered. If you are the subject of any of these photos or would like copies of them for your personal use, contact Beth referencing the number and words accompanying the photo. She will send you a copy, free of charge, with the agreement to sign a photo release for her in exchange. Beth is a stock photographer who represents 4 stock companies.)

1. The UMA campus library where the event was held, has art displays. (This alligator is one of three such sculptures.)	2. Coffee and snacks are put out before the event.	3. Audience seating is arranged in the stacks of the library.
4. Participants and audience members enjoy...	5. ....a time for social interaction and....	6. ....goodies!
7. Readers'-eye view.	8. The event begins with a reading for the Fort Kent contingent who cannot attend due to weather.	9. Set up for panel discussion to come later.
10. The reading begins....	11......	12....and is recorded for posterity.
