This is the back side of the waterfall. |
Then it's off to investigate the schooner fleet. |
We manage to get an invitation to board the Mary Day.... |
and explore while the crew cleans... |
....and gets ready for the next batch of passengers--right down to the kid crew! |
We can photograph the waterfall from the Mary Day.... |
....and get this unusual perspective. |
And here's proof that we actually got on board. |
Then on the way home we stop at the farm where White Belted Galloways 'grow.' Michaele says we should call them Maine Zebras. |

 ...lots of smiles! |

 It's a gorgeous place for everyone. |
Michaele kidnaps a small child.... |
....between taking lots of pictures. |
This is a shot Michaele really likes. |
 Everyone is sightseeing.... |
 ...and I mean EVERYONE... |
 ...and this is what.... |
 ....they are looking at. |

Michaele blows time on a Gameboy. |
The Three Mousketeers on board waiting for the cruise to leave. |
On the way out we see pleasure boats on the horizon...far away through the fog. |
And tourists from a Harley Davison Group in Zelienople surprise us by being aboard too. |
Backfin whales blow the sea air from their lungs before they breach. |
Someone's 40th birthday balloons pollute the ocean. Please don't throw garbage or let balloons escape. They may end up here. |
A naturalist teaches us all about whales. |
Back on land, we find flowers.... |
 ....angels.... |
...and things to shop for ...... |
 .....in town. |
Day 5: On a rainy day, we go out for.... |
....breakfast and Liz poses for Michaele in another phone booth. |
At Brown's Wharf there are beautiful boats and calm waters. |
It's very busy at the restaurant, so we wait for a seat.... |
 ....and explore the docks. |
After breakfast in Damariscotta, we shop and Liz finds a nightshirt, then... |
...it's time for a coffee break and... |
...more shopping! It's a day of shopping from beginning to end! |
Day 6: Puffin Cruise, At the dock there's time to anticipate the puffins. |
An Audobon naturalist narrates the tour. |
A bird egg is circulated through the passengers to show cammoflage. |
Ron & Michaele watch for puffins and then....THERE they are! |
Puffins are on and all around Egg Rock... |
....and for this little football with wings, take-off is a challenge! |
 Isn't he cute???? |
In full flight at last! |
Michaele & Liz buy things for their classrooms |
Passengers stand on the bow for the trip home. |
Then we head out to Red's Eats where it's too busy and we don't feel like waiting in the line. |
At Edgecomb Potter's Michaele tries out the leaf chaise. She DOESN'T find it comfortable! |
Blown glass at Edgecomb potters. |
Then in the evening we make one more visit to Pemaquid... |
...to again experience the sheer joy of being by the ocean in such a beautiful place. |
Liz looks out at the ocean, |
Michaele gets ready to do some more photography, and |
 ...Ron looks for wildlife! |
The light from the rocky shore near sunset. |
 It's a time for quiet conversations. |
Liz covers all views and greets this cat... |
A beautiful sky like THIS lights the house like THIS! |
 (lighthouse, Pemaquid, Maine) |
This sign has new meaning as it gets dark. |
As it darkens, the light puts on one new.... |
 ...face.... |
 ....after another. |
We say 'Good Night' to Pemaquid Light. (lighthouse) |
Day 7: Farewell Day, we start at the Ocean Point Inn for breakfast and Michaele selects a new sweatshirt. |
Then it's off to feed the ducks left-over bread and bagels. |
 |
 Oopsy, Daisy! Bottoms UP! |
Liz checks out the town docks across the street, then it's back home to pack. |
"Liz, can you help me get this suitcase zipped?" |
"You push and I'll pull!" |
"Maybe a good knee will do the trick and if all else fails.... |
....we'll just remove some stuff." |
Well it's all packed and now it's time to go. |
Good-bye waves at Portland International Airport. |
