| They're in MAINE!
 | Lorelei
 | comes to visit with her ....
 |
| Mom ....
 | | ....and Dad.
 |
| Find a place for your milk w/ all that STUFF!!
 | She's at an age where it's important to feed oneself!!
 | Watching Dad on the deck, then in the afternoon....
 |
| ...we get to the beach to hunt....
 | ....and find crabs.
 | Day Three: Trains are mighty fun!
 |
| But so are blocks and today...
 | ...we break out the blocks.
 | |
| And the box they come in is as much fun as the blocks...surprise, surprise!
 | Sometimes natural material is even more fun than the bought toys.
 | But reading is....
 |
| ....always a favorite!
 | Well, almost! Looking at an old photo album is the most fun of all,
 | because I KNOW these people!
 |
| Clay starts staining the deck.
 | Working hard on a warm day.
 | How do you like the red stain?
 |
| Day Four: Breakfast before a trip to Portland.
 | Dad goofing off with a set of 'toy teeth.' (This one is for you, Mary Lee)
 | LL Bean's Outlet store is a tempting place!!
 |
| As you can see!
 | But the price is just a bit steep and how would you take it home on the airplane anyway?
 | But there's no problem trying out the furniture which is SOOOOOO BIG!
 |
| Then it's time for lunch at Flatbreads where Lorelei tries to feed Mom lemon slices...YECH!
 | The pizza surely is GOOD....
 | ....every last bite of it!
 |
| Then it's on to the Ferry Terminal and picking out postcards.
 | Day Five: Everyone comes for dessert.
 | Lorelei is trying very hard to...
 |
| ...put her own shoes on.
 | And to put her own sunglasses
 | on and.....
 |
| ....off.
 | And sometimes they are UPSIDEDOWN!
 | Check out the recycling bag....Ah! Pepsi!!
 |
| But no one can be happy ALL the time!
 | Stickers are
 | fun... and a bit like tattoos.
 |
| Day Six: Dad Shoulders his Little Load
 | and gets her out of the car at Brown's where...
 | It's a BIRTHDAY PARTY!
 |
| Jeanne turns 60 and everyone celebrates!
 | It's SO nice to have the Conant/Harling clan...
 | ....together...especially those with new knees...aren't they beautiful!!??
 |
| Then it's time for the birthday girl to ....
 | ....cut the cake!
 | |
| ....we meet Joe and Priscilla for breakfast.
 | Then it 's time for a photo op in front of ...
 | ...the BIG Guy!
 |
| SOOOOOO BIG!
 | His foot makes a decent seat.
 | Then we take off to the other side of the Harbor to...
 |
| ...take a walk and .....
 | ...check out the dogs and....
 | ....fish and....
 |
| ....tickets for a boatride tomorrow.
 | Pappa takes a turn carrying Lorelei and...
 | we check out the Bay Lady before we....
 |
| ....head back to town, but first, gotta ....
 | .....rest and play with those new shoes!
 | Then the day ends with a visit from Stewart.
 |
| Day Seven: Begins with a reading of the Potty Book.
 | Then we do some drawing and it ends with...
 | ....a sail on the Bay Lady.
 |
| Checking it out with Poppa
 | ....and Dad.
 | Sail away....
 |
| and it's LOTS of fun!
 | Heeling requires a bit of holding on.
 | Mom points out something.
 |
| And as the sail nears an end, entertainment by Dad is in order.
 | And these are typical views....
 | ....from the boat...Burnt Island Lighthouse...
 |
| ...HMS Bounty in for repairs....
 | ....and Our Lady of Peace from the Harbor.
 | Day Eight: We meet family at Reid State Park for....
 |
| ....a picnic, then....
 | head over to the beach where Clay and Lorelei....
 | ....have fun playing rough and tumble on the beach.
 |
| People walk by with their colorful kites.
 | Last Day: Lorelei has fun looking at photos of her trip and....
 | ...visiting with Auntie Jeanne.
 |
| Then it's time to help Mom pack from the loft.
