 January 18, and it's a storm...60 mph gusts with 18-20 foot waves... |
 ...at high tide on Pemaquid Point... |
 ...waves crash over the central column of ledge where we usually sit to watch the ocean!! |
 People brace to hold onto their hats and not be blown away... |
 ...and take shelter in the lea of the light to escape the wild wind for a few moments. |
 On the next peninsula a lone tree stands alone against the weather! |

 October 13: Liz visits from Pittsburgh and we go to her favorite coastal .... |

 West Quoddy is probably one of the... |
 ...prettiest lighthouses in Maine...at least I think so! |
 Lovely red and white candystripes are bright... |

 Then it's on to East Quoddy light...smaller and less spectacular, but pretty just the same. |

 ....Pemaquid. Lovely no matter how many times you've been there!! |
 I'm always looking for a different perspective and this time... |
 And with the blue skies and scattered clouds, |
 it's a special day to photograph this... |

 May 6; We head out to Portland to... |

 June 6: The sun comes out and it's time for a trip to... |

 There are now TWO warning signs on the fence, but.... |
 ...the sky isn't as dramatic as last time. |

 June 20: We go to Pemaquid, Liz and Michaele's favorite Maine place! |
 ....the overcast starts to break up. |
 And it's another gorgeous Pemaquid day with interesting... |

 Everyone enjoys sitting on the ledges watcing the waves crash and smelling the salt.... |
 ....air on a gorgeous day. |
 ....to Burnt Island. |
 Keeper's house is beautiful with all it's angles and rooflines. |
 The sun comes out and tourist boats ply the harbor beyond the light as.... |
 ...the keeper explains how a kerosene lamp provided the light... |
 ....that powered the Fresnell lens in the lighthouse. |
 More boats leave the harbor with tourists going on other journeys. |

 Ron sits and enjoys the view. |
 Then to catch some cool breezes, we stop at Portland Head Light. |

 ...small, puffy clouds on the horizon... Michaele and Liz enjoy the view! |

 Then we head out for Pemaquid where we climb the lighthouse to the... |
 ...lightroom where we have a sweeping view and feel... |
 ....like we're on top of the world up here where... |
 ...we can see 'our shadow' from above!! |
 It's a lovely, bright, blue day! |
 And this place is endlessly... |

 ...no matter how many times one visits. |
