Maine Lighthouses



As a new resident of Maine, I will enjoy collecting photographs of her lighthouses. There are a few nearby and I will try to capture them in different seasons and times of day. Here is the start...

Thank you for this beautiful website. My dad was born on Portland Breakwater Lighthouse in South Portland Maine. His grandfather was keeper there. My Dad's Mom & Dad lived there & helped with the lighthouse. My Great-grandfather, William T Holbrook was keeper of Bass Harbor, Burnt Island, Portland Breakwater & Asst Keeper of Half Way Rock. He had quite a career & retired at age 70. My dad was named after him. We are very proud of this heritage.

I stumbled across you site searching for pictures of lighthouses, and I have to say these are some of the most beautiful lighthouse pictures! Thank you for shareing them I really enjoyed it. I've always wanted to visit Maine, maybe one day I will, in the until then I'll just enjoy your pictures.

Nostalgia!!! I'm about to retire and get back to my own photography, your an inspiraton.
