A very strong image, made stronger by your abrupt framing to the left. The house seems to sliding out of the picture, almost as the land is sliding off into the ocean. The colors are rich and deep and pure, the colors of nature. Except for the house, which is man's answer to nature. The two men give it scale, and lonely feeling. They seem to be contemplating the immensity of nature, and the frailty of man, which is intensified by your scale incongruity and brilliant framing. An extremely expressive image, Beth -- made so by abstraction, incongruity, and human values working together.

roils? ;) It does though look like an oil painting. One of your best images, I think. I imagine two men waiting for a sign of an overdue boat by a swollen sea. They look cold and having to wait. There is a surreal quality much lke I imagine it feels when something goes unexpectedly wrong. There is, in short, a malevolent mood to it. That aside, I like the colours and the composition too.

Great picture. Did you have to do any retouching to it in Photo
Shop or Elements?

Great image, seems as though one could walk right on out to the next land...As I always say your eye captures more than an image, It provides a sort of history of the area in which you capture...

I love the lighting on this image. I also enjoyed all of your other photos.
