 Approaching Glacier we see familiar sights. |

 Sept. 13: We start the day at the park... |

 Up the lake and down, we notice that ... |

 We make the usual Giftshop visits and while i wait for Ron... |
 ...I sit outside in the sunshine. It's in the 40's this AM, but due to warm up as the day goes on. |

 And at MacDonald we visit the giftshop too. |
 Then walk to the end of the grounds to see.. |

 At the boat launch the mountains loom. |
 McDonald Lodge reports weather and road conditions. We've not got much time to get where we're going! |

 Sept. 13 Evening: We walk into Whitefish to check it out and see what's changed.... |
 ...not much! This street is closed for work. |
 ...and someone has a good sense of humor! |

 In the morning the world is magical! |
 Sept. 14: We take the Going to the Sun road and find this truck off the road. A worker fell asleep at the wheel, but is okay! |

 Down in the valley....we saw our first grizzly bear today...crossing the road...or trying! |

 It's another lovely day and the road is under construction....scary! |

 And to drive over these mountains is exhilirating and frightening all at once! |

 And we're glad this road is getting fixed after 70+ years of disrepair! |

 Logan's Pass again. We call to the bears to be sure they know we are coming! |

 Sept. 14 ends with a glorious sky! |
 Sept. 15, we stop at the Montana Fur Trading company to start the day. |
 It's a very interesting western place, but.... |

 Small treasures wait for us on our way from the parking lot to the lodge. |

 From there we head to Lake MacDonald and the lodge. |

 Then we take an hour-long cruise to see the remains of the 2003 forest fire. |

 We sit out front watching the lake. I forgot all about black and white capture! |
 Ron gets his binoculars out. |
 From the lake it's just amazingly gorgeous! |

 Sorry for the repetition, but it's just so beautiful! |
 The park ranger told us that the average stay in the park is 1 1/2 days; most commonly asked |
 questions are: How long will it take to see the park; where are the bathrooms and where can I buy coke? |
 He said he tells them to find a rock somewhere; sit down quietly and CRY! |

 The day ends w/ lunch and Ron demands my camera....his batteries had worn out! |
 September 16 starts at Lake macDonald which is peaceful and calm in the early AM. |
 The sun is just rising over the mountains. |
 And all is well... |
 ...with the world; from here anyway! |

 Going to the Sun Road is the site of a winter's avalanche and we can see... |

 Sept. 17 and we stop to put a teepee on lay away for Marty! |
 Ron says, "Laid away til you need to be laid away... |

 Sept. 17: We go back to MacDonald and a Jammer is stopping by with tourists too. |

 The bees are almost tame...even though one stung Ron yesterday! |
 In the Lodge again...this time to check out rooms for next year. |
 Then we drive up the Sun Road again, but stopping along MacDonald Creek which is running slowly in Fall. |
 Then on to Trail of the Cedars; 700 year old trees here (will spend more time here when we come back in Oct.)! |

 We get our reservations in for the village Inn right on the lake at Apgar. |
 We can hardly believe we'll be staying here... |
