Each December Santa comes to Boothbay Harbor and he comes among a selection of fun events! Where else in America does Santa arrive by boat?

 Dec. 5: Festival of LIghts day starts at the Opera House where... |
 gingerbread house making is a fun thing to do! |
 Mom and the lady at the table help! |
 Then there are lots of decorated trees... |
 ....for sale; this one has a typical Maine motif. |
 But Lorelei's favorite is the cookie tree! |
 But I like this one! |
 And dough decorations are inexpensive. |
 Hi Mom! See what I've got! |
 See my house! |
 Then we head to town and run into ... |
 ....these cute doggies! |
 Lorelei jumps from painted rectangle to painted rectangle. |
 On the waterfront, lobstermen get into the spirit. |
 And Lorelei looks for Dora the Explorer on.... |

 Then it's time for a bit of pole spinning. |
 The Novelty is decked out in holiday decor. |
 Lobster boats prepare for the lighted... |
 ....boat parade. |
 Yes, and these too! |
 Then people hang out waiting for Santa's arrival! |
 And there are lots of doggies in the crowd to.... |
 ....keep the kids.... |
 ....happy and ..... |
 ....occupied as they wait! |
 More fishermen getting ready. |
 As the crowd gathers at the harborfront. |
 Then Voila! There he is with his entourage. |
 With Mrs. Claus on his arm... |
 ...they march up the dock. |
 ....to greet the crowd. |
 Marta and Lorelei wait expectantly. |
 Hey! Santa! |
 Wave to me!! |
 And give hugs to the children. |
 Later the same day; after a nap.... |
 ....we go for the tree lighting at the library and Santa arrives w/ Mrs. Claus. |
 Lorelei isn't so sure she wants to see him, so... |
 ....Pappa makes a good shield! |
 The local band plays Christmas Carols while.... |
 .....Santa hands out candy canes...he's not so frightening after all! |
 And the library hands out fancy cookies....yummmmmm! |
 And the festivities.... |
 .....dance on with live.... |
 .....music! It was a good day! |
