Oct. 6: We head out for the East Side of the park. We... |
 It's still not yet light out....not 100% anyway. |
...follow a route along the southern border of the park...Route 2. |
It's a pretty day though the sun isn't fully up yet. It rises after 7:00 AM here now. |
Though dark, it's still pretty! |
We see a freight train moving along our route. |
Snow from 2 days ago coats the mountain top....thank GOD! |
Snow makes the route more interesting! |
Ron does the driving and misses the scenery outside! |
These snow sheds keep avalanch snows from the tracks. |
We approach the east and the mountains turn to prairie...flat, flat, prairie! |
 Flat, flat, flat! |
But you can still see mountains on the Blackfeet Reservation approaching Browning. |
We stop for gas in Browning and this sculpture is across the street at a gallery. Wanna buy it? |
 Wow! Interesting! |
 What a ride! |
This tunnel is the entrance to East Glacier. |
And this is one of the lovely lodges in the park. |
Heading toward Two Medicine we find... |
...a group locked out of their Escillade unable ot use thieir OnStar! Stuck in the cold wind without coats on, we worry for them |
So further up the road we turn around and pick them up to make a phone call and get their vehicle back! |
Two Medicine look foreboding and the winds FEEL foreboding! |
then it's on to Two Medicine where the wind is howliing! |
I can barely stand to take this photo. |
Ron takes a photo for a family visiting Two Medicine. |
And I don't stand outside the car for very long. |
 Aren't they something? |
Then we go on to East glacier the only route we have left at this time of year.... |
....across the mountains where the snow is blowing... |
....but it surely IS beautiful! |
Going from Browning West toward the mountains again we... |
Free range cattle along the road back to Browning are hungry, but cold! |
....are relieved to be headed 'home.' |
The views are 'to die for!' |
 Well, almost....not quite! |
 Amazing, though, isn't it? |
We can see why people want to live here. |
Further toward the West side the winds calm down and it looks more like Fall again. |
Despite the change in direction, it's still very pretty! |
and there is still snow on mountaintops! |
And trains still ply the thracks! |
