Common Ground Fair, 2005
The name says it all! It was like a step back into the 60's. Turn the 'hippie' of the 60's into a farmer and entrepreneur and THIS is what you get!!
A focus on kids and the fun simple tools can give;
an appreciation for our history; (How can we know where we're going, if we don't know where we've been?)
giving kids a chance to play with work;
teamwork, cooperation, intergenerational endeavors;
beauty in a basket; 'flower power;'
fresh veggies grown without pesticides;
oxen with noses to pet;
donkeys (or mules) to power a lady's plow;
a show of muscle is still a boy's perogative;
fun for the kids;
Dads pitching in to care for kids;
showcasing old time skills; (Blacksmithing)
baking beans the old fashioned way; (Beanhole)
learning to repair your own bike;
machine art to sweeten the day;
and fried dough to fill the tummy!
