 Early June and because the ocean is still only 45-50 degrees cold...., |
 ....fog is the result. |
 Days often start and end with fog. Here fog creeps up the river... |
 ....in the early afternoon. |
 But by evening, it's clear again and Our Lady of Peace is clearly visible across the harbor from the western side of the harbor. |

 Dec. 10 is a gorgeous day for a walk on the beach with... |

 March 11: We head toward Wiscasset, then up Route 27 toward Hallowell... |
 ...and the Sheepscott is a gorgeous blue/green! |
 Mar 22: We drive out towards Tenant's Harbor and find... |
 ....old boat/fishing paraphenalia all lined up.. |
 ....with fishing views behind. |
 On the way to Spruce Head we find this man working on his roof. |

 But the ocean is always beautiful...no matter what! And what about those ROCKS? |

 Mar. 26 we go for a walk in Zak Preserve where we find... |
 ...a beaver munched log... |
 ...and amazing lichen! |
 After lunch we go to the beach where... |
 ....it is a glorious sparkling day with... |
 ....blue skies, white surf...and... |
 ....walkers on the beach! |
 Some of them are 'planting' clams and others... |
 ...walk arm in arm... |
 ...and share the day with little white dogs! |
 April 10 is a lovely day .... along Rt. 1 .... Signs of Maine... |
 On the way home, .... a busy day! |
 April 11 is less bright, but...at this boatyard... |
 ...there are all kinds of interesting... |
 ...things...boats, snowplows, rusty trucks, etc. |
 Then it's on to the beach and New Harbor where...(environmental) |

 Then on the way to West Quoddy Head, there is new vegetation with Lubec in the background. |

 On the way back to Machias, we find this lovely scene of beached ... |

 Then to an outlook where we can see Lubec from the Canadian side. |
 Day Three dawns with fog on the river and... |
 Canadian geese stop off in blueberry field for a migration snack. |
 on our way to Calais, we find lovely marsh vegetation with tinges of Fall already! |
 Beyond Ellsworth we stop for blueberries. |
 Time to play with Lighthouse... (Maine, rocky, composite) |

 Sept. 24: We head out Downeast and it's foggy...here the cables of the new Waldo-Hancock Bridge disappear into the weather! |
 First stop....Schoodic Point....in the fog. |
 An evergreen death....lovely even.... |

 Waterfront Jonesport on a crystal, clear day is.... |
 enjoyed by this klatch of fishermen trading 'fish-stories.' |
 Then we are reminded of Andrew Wyeth in a lonely field outside Jonesport. |
 ...it's a glorious day on top of Mt. Cadillac. |
 The skies are lovely and the views wide and far. |
