Belfast, Maine
Belfast in mid-November is lovely. This small town in Mid-Coast Maine has a workingclass history and these photos reflect that.
Near the waterfront, there are still old, coal sheds with antique equipment!
And being Maine, there are lovely, tall spruce trees abundantly.
Old wooden sailing vessels can be found on the waterfront.
The Eskimo is in harbor from Alaska with it's...
...long distance sailor! What a journey...he's wintering in Belfast.
The footbridge is being reconstructed across the river.
Contradictions!!
And a workingclass scarecrow join...
...other symbols of Belfast's working nature...
...along with nautical symbols...
...to 'paint' a picture of...
...a working waterfront.
Another working symbol.
Old, stately churches pepper the town.
This one was designed by Bullfinch and the bell was cast by Revere!!
Another view of First Congregational Church
Another....
....and another...
But there are plenty of examples of New England church architecture!
Butch & Karen out the car window...wish it was in focus!!
