Trier Germany

Trier was founded in 16 BC and is considered Germany's oldest city. It was the residence of Diocletian, Constantine the Great and other Roman emperors. Trier is a centre of Christianity north of the Alps. Karl Marx was born here is 1818.

I was born in Trier in 1940 and had been back to visit many times. The last time was 1989. Looking at your wonderful pictures made me realize how beautiful Trier has become. However, there are many buildings that I don't recognize or have forgotten what they represent. It would be nice when you post the pictures to list a discription of the subject instead the IMG#. Hope to visit soon again. I still have relatives there.

Loved you pics, was in Paris, Brussles and Netherlands in June but your pics are the best.
