Apartment Fire / 305 Washington St / Norwich CT / Nov 2007
I had just pulled in to the parking lot of L&M hospital when GFA toned out the canteen for a run in Norwich. The GPS indicated about a 25 minute response. My ailing mother wasn't going anywhere and I had the holiday off so I took it in.
The fire building was an occupied six-family with heavy fire on the second floor that extended. They teased it for hours with master streams until the roof was completely burned off and the fire could be extinguished.
Thank you for the photos. My neice lived here. She has lung cancer and could not get out without the firefighters carrying her out. She is an artist and lost all her artwork for 25 years and all the photos/sketches/pottery that she had created and all the albums to document. Also lost her 5 cats who were her comfort and family while she is fighting cancer. She is homeless now. thank you for these wonderful photos.
