02-FEB-2009 Dan Wyman

The Poker Hall of Fame is located in Binion's Hotel. My uncle, Sid Wyman (just to the right of the mirror), was inducted posthumously, as a charter member.

"Criteria for selection of nominees are based on five major points of conderation:

* Must have played against world class competition.
* Must have played for high stakes.
* Must have consistently played well.
* Must enjoy the respect of his peers.
* Must have stood the test of time."

Sid Wyman qualified for this honor on all counts. He loved to play poker and was one of the world's best in his day. His favorite game was Texas Hold 'Em, which is popular today. Sid and his partners owned various hotel-casinos in Las Vegas during the 1950's and 1960's, including the Sands, Riviera and the Dunes.
