CHICKADEE THINKS HE'S A HUMMER

And the hummers aren't too thrilled to share their feeder.

After Irene left and the yard and surrounding area was all cleaned up, the birds were quite anxious to get fresh food.

The hummers in particular were quite pesky until the feeder was refilled with fresh nectar.
I was amazed they stayed thru the storm. Maybe I shouldn't have left the feeder up, but the never stopped coming, even when the feeder was at a 45° angle.

Thanks, everyone, for your thoughts, prayers, well-wishes and privately sent concerns. Irene was no Katrina. She definitely did damage, but she was no Katrina. THANK GOODNESS!

Some areas are still without power, lots of flooding, but it's slowly getting back to normal.

So glad to see that they will fight for their feeder. I recently added a hummer feeder in the front of the house because every morning they would hover in front of my office window. At first, the other bird feeders were empty, so the hummers came and went often. Yesterday I filled the other feeders - hoping that the hummers will still visit theirs. Phew! That was a long comment. ;)
