Our Mother Eagle was recently killed by an airplane that was landing at the local airport.
She apparently had a fish in her talons & was returning to the nest when she was struck.
A local Native American group offered to honor her with a performance and native prayers.
More than two hundred people attended this spontaneous tribute.
It offered healing & continuance for the loss of a local icon.
This was the "Call to the Eagle" and, coincidentally, the male eagle (ostensibly) could be seen soaring a few thousand feet overhead.
