Sometimes I think LAB processing makes photos look a lot like old-time post cards, sort of over-saturated

That is true ... and they can be gorgeous. Heck, I remember the days when you though a lab was a dog. ;0-)

I like this one..it does remind me of an old postcard with the purple hues in it! Beautiful composition!
