Hiroshima, Japan view map

A painful lesson in human history that costs 200,000 innocent lives.

The Atomic Bomb exploded almost directly above the building on 6 August 1945.
And it was the closest structure to withstand the explosion.
The building has been preserved in the same state as immediately after the bombing,
and now serves as the reminder of nuclear devastation and
as a symbol of hope for world peace and elimination of all nuclear weapons.

Excellent that you included this. It's something we should all remember. Great perspective and I like that you did it in B&W--gives a aura of sombreness that it's due.

An exquisite capture ~V~, and a grim reminder of an awesome event in a dreadful period of history.

Very well presented CM, especially in BW.
Sure the nuclear bomb was devastatrist, but... had it not been for it, how many more people would the Japanaese have killed ? Who started that war ? How many people had the Japanese had killed by then ? So it simply brought to a stop an entity that would not otherwise have stopped and kept on killing at a horrific rate. In this point of view, it is a weapon of peace, since it is what it has brought.

Very good point of view and composition. The shadows on the tablet work very well and set the mood for this memorial. Great work. "V"
