Soup by Mistress

China Town, Melbourne view map

This restaurant is named “Soup by Mistress”.
It implies they specialise in Cantonese slow-cooked soup.
Because Cantonese males are crazy about the slow-cooked soup,
mistresses usually try all their best to prepare delicious soup
in order to please their lovers.

The slow-cooked soup is a kind of clear broth.
It is usually prepared by simmering meats and/or
chicken with different kinds of vegetables/herbs for several hours.

Very moody shot. It used to be my familiar place... but now all the old shops gone but the new one stay. It is an regrettable things that I didn't take any pic in this lane.
Every day you walked by the familiar places or meet familiar people, you would never realized they are special. Thanks for flashing back my memories but those memories would only be kept deep inside my heart!

Yes, beautiful shot. But I am also interested by this soup !
That was also a tradition here (western Europe) but abandoned. I know nobody still doing it, and it is a bit sad.

A lovely image CM! I would love to try this soup - but I think I will change the name to Mister Soup & let my husband make it for me. LOL! V.
