The 'Lady of the Manor' is Mrs. Blalock. She turned 100 years old in March 2013 and she has lived in this house for 80 years. The house was built by her father-in-law and she and her husband moved in as newly weds. Her husband passed 10 years ago leaving her the sole occupant. The house was commandeered and used as a hospital during the Civil War which is why it was one of the very few buildings that was not razed as General Sherman's army made its way to the sea burning everything in their wake including the city of Atlanta.
