Few shots of the America's Cup practice run from this morning, while the whole bay area is experiencing a heat wave but the SF bay is still cool and windy as usual, 64 degree at Crissy Field at noon time, 35 degree cooler than the inland cities, and it was soooooooo foggy, as you can see from the picture, you can't even see the bridge from the Yacht Club, where I shot these from, that's how bad the visibility was, at one point, both Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz was completely invisible from where I was, I hope when the real game start on Friday the weather will cooperate a little bit, we still want to the wind but please no fog.
I played with the new Nikon 70-200 F4 VR + 1.7X teleconvertor on both the D800E and Sony NEX7 today , of course it works like a champ on the D800E, but to my surprise, it was so easy to manual focus on the NEX7, that Focus Peaking really WORKS. The AC 72 Catamaran is simply amazing, you have to see it in person to get a idea how big that is and how fast this damn thing moves in the water, I was wondering how many horse power does it have, oh, it's called sail boat, LOL.....
Update on 07/03/2013:
Went out to the bay again today to see if the weather gets any better, in the morning it was still pretty bad and toward the end it did get a little better than yesterday, the last 30 pictures were from today.
