Sudbury Ontario has plenty of interesting industrial activity, miles and miles of scenery and plenty of history. Adding a couple of weekends to business trips and a few hundred miles to rental cars I was able to find many interesting photography locations. Since my interests are in railroads I stayed with that theme and was disappointed to find that the smelter was shut down and not much was running. Being new to the area kept the train count pretty low. Once again the point and shoot was available for service but has it's limits. These photos were in July and August of 2009, Fall colors were surprisingly not far off.
The Huron Central was going through a re-organization but was able to provide an afternoon train. The CP and CN are tough to chase through the trees so I had to resort to a few static locations. North Bay was interesting, zero action but a pretty good storm for background. I was able to check out the rail terminals and the equipment in storage. Looks like that work continues.
