The Mossbrae Daylight Special Train ran from Dunsmuir California to the namesake Falls on the Sacramento River today. The task was to highlight the Sacramento River, Mossbrae Falls and the difficulty in visiting the falls. The City of Dunsmuir, the Union Pacific RR and a Local landowner are working to make a deal allowing a hiking trail to the falls and the bend in the river. A few years a go a hiker was struck by a train while traversing the RR as they followed the River to Mossbrae Falls.
The train consisted of The Pony Express Baggage Car an ex-Canadian Pacifc car, The Tolani Coach an ex-Sante Fe car, The Plaza Sante Fe Pleasure Dome, The Royal gorge an ex-D&RGW lounge and the Yerba Buena Observation car owned by Rail Ventures.
