Business Train at Dos Rios

The SP Business Special passes the old Train Order location and passing siding of Dos Rios where Outlet Creek joins the Eel River in mid=September 1981. The NWP route sustained extensive storm damage and is presently not passable. The parent Company Southern Pacific RR is now part of the Union Pacific RR. Present status of the passenger cars is not known. Written permission is required to reproduce any material contained in this website.

Clive, moving forward from the Business car, the 10-6 Budd sleeping car is now (2014) owned by a private individual and is kept in Southern California. The ex-Sunset Limited Lounge and Diner were repainted in Daylight colors and are now in storage at CSRM in Sacramento. I can't tell which Business car that is by sight, and the res available doesn't let me see the name and insignia panel clearly enough. Most of the SP Business cars active in the 1980s have survived in preservation, and of course, Stanford and Sunset are still operated by UP. Thanks for posting the pics! ~ Bob Zenk
