Nice, Tom. I was involved in a rescue of one of these today with the WA Dept. of Fish and Wildlife and the Swan Society. Although it looks OK, it could not fly out of the wetland it has occupied for weeks. It took 2 hours of float tubing, wading, and finally swimming in 40 degree water (with a wetsuit). Fortunately, they become very docile when you get your arms around their wings.

Great shot, Tom! One step at a time! It's wings appear to act as stabilizers.

Terrific! This looks like a capture of a ballet dancer. Perfect timing. \/

Great shot Tom - in my area the way to tell a Trumpeter from other swans is to look for the one that is covered with wing tags and bands. They are making a great recovery in Ontario from near extirpation.

Terrific capture!

Nice shot Tom. Maybe Mom & Pop should invest in some skates for junior.
