Northern Hawk Owl with Vole

Spokane Co WA

I wish the sticks did not cover his head and the Vole. I'm sure some of you folks who are good at PS could remove them but that's the way it looked and was photographed.

Canon EOS 40D ,Canon EF 500mm f/4L IS USM
1/180s f/8.0 at 700.0mm iso400 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Awesome shot Tom. I for one would try to remove the stick with content aware, not that I'm that good with PS.

Hi Tom,
This is a terrific capture! What's a little stick? I sometimes spend hours removing lines and what have you from pictures and then wonder why I went to all the trouble? If you hadn't mentioned it I probably wouldn't even have noticed it. I was more interested in his eyes and mezmerized gaze. \/

Yes, it is too bad about the branches but that is what was there and nature seldom cooperates fully with us photogs. Regardless, the image is a tremendously wonderful representation of the natural world at work. Thank you for sharing this. Voted
