Shakan Traditional Pow Wow

En route on our weekend trip from Salmon Arm to Mission we decided to explore
the beautiful Highway 8 that runs between Merritt and Spences Bridge.We happened
upon the Shackan Reserve Pow Wow with beautifully ornate traditional First Nations
costumes, delicious food and very happy friendly people. These are some of the
photos I took on our brief time there September 9th, 2012.

Love this gallery, dad! The colours are so beautiful and the costumes are gorgeous. Did you get a contact # for any of these folks? They'd love the images, for sure. The kids in these shots are so sweet- so concentrated and focused! Well done!
