What an amazing night I had on December 1st 2005! My friend and I attended a charity concert at Saint Margaret's Church next to Westminster Abbey in aid of the Lupus Trust, and it was here I first had the pleasure of ZHL Strings in the form of Bogdan on violin, Roger on the cello, Jim on the viola and Horia on violin. My God! are they something special, they were electric and energetic and SO much FUN, I felt like a little girl wanting to clap and join in, I could bearly contain my excitement at watching them perform. After the concert had finished I was desperate to find out where I could see them perform next, and then completely shocked to discover that their only regular performance is at Covent Garden on Saturdays. No guessing where I was that following Saturday, I headed straight for Covent Garden where I listened to them perform again, this time with a very funny, very talented Irish lad engaging the audience on all levels. Oh Happy Day! born entertainers! great musicians and I wait with baited breath to the day when I can afford to have them perform at my wedding! If I had to marry in a second hand dress and barefoot it would be worth it to dance my first dance to the sound of ZHL Strings and see the delight on my guests faces' when they share something so breathtaking.

Our family heard ZHL in June 2005 at Covent Garden. They were simply superb and our 12 year old son bought a CD. We then went down to Eygalieres in the south of France and played their CD every day. It enhanced our whole visit to France and fitted perfectly with the wonderful village that we stayed in. Since home in Australia it is a popular choice for dinner music and beyond. It reminds us of both London and France and adds to every occasion. In case this sounds too 'perfect' or selective, we also enjoy Led Zeppelin and the Stones -picking the occasion is the key.

I was visiting London from the United States, and while I was having lunch in Covent Garden, I heard this beautiful music coming from somewhere. So when I had finished my meal, I followed the music and found these talented young musicians performing at the market. Being a musician myself, I was quite impressed. Unfortunately the people I was with weren't as interested as I was, so I couldn't stay as long as I would have hoped. I bought one of their CDs, but I was rather disapointed when I got to listen to it, because it wasn't nearly as good as the live performance. The people pictured here are not the people I saw that day, but I'm sure they're very talented as well. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that I will never forget the day I watched the ensemble perform, for it really moved me, and I hope I can return to Covent Garden someday to hear them again.
